Rain dances outside my window,
Clearing filth and pollution.
“Oh, Mother Nature, how good you are,”
Gasoline for my expensive car, fancy dancing shoes.

More and more, we seem to neglect you.
Last night’s festival— “Oh, what fun!”
Only to find confetti, bottles, garbage all about.

I wake to
No Earth. No Mother.

I lay back to sleep and dream about the dancing rain.
